    PROJECT COORDINATOR- CLIMATE CHANGE AND GREEN JOBS

    ORGANIZATIONAL BACKGROUND

    Panchtara Yuwa Samrakshak Manch (PTYSM) is leading Karnali Province based NGO. It was registered in District Administration Office (DAO: 26/053), Jajarkot in 1997 and affiliated with Social Welfare Council (SWC: 6004/054) in 1998. The NGO was established by young development professionals and social workers having long experiences in rural development. The organization was established with the sole aim to create social justice through the empowerment of vulnerable groups. Since the establishment, it has been working for economically poor and socially disadvantaged groups including Dalit, indigenous and marginalized ethnicity; children, Person with Disabilities, and youths to ensure their equitable access to resources, opportunities, and decision-making processes.

    PTYSM has been consistently involved in project development and execution in coordination with GoN (DCCs, Municipalities, and LAs), I/NGOs, bilateral and multilateral agencies on various dimensions ranging from community mobilization and institutional building, livelihood promotion, entrepreneurship development, education, and capacity development, training, child right and child protection, awareness, agriculture, livestock and forestry, climate change adaptation and mitigation, community health, water sanitation and hygiene (WASH), Maternal and neonatal renewal energy, social accountability, gender, disability and social Inclusion (GEDSI), human rights and peace building; and DRR & CCA. The organization is dedicated to the ideals of holistic and integrated development based on a harmonious balance of socio-culture, material and organization trusted on teamwork and development through social mobilization.

    Project

    Panch Tara Yuwa Samrakshak Manch (PTYSM) has been implementing Sahayatra-III Project in Jajarkot district in partnership with Save the Children International. The vision of the project is to secure rural vulnerable children’s rights to education, protection, sexual and reproductive health, and resilience, leaving no child behind. The overall project objective is to support to disadvantage girls and boys of Jarakot district.

    JOB TITLE

    Project Coordinator- Climate Change and Green Jobs

    Jajarkot District, Chhedagd Municipality, PTYSM Field Office with 30% Field Visits.

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    Under the direct supervision of Program Manager- Sahayatra III and Project Coordinator- Climate Change, and Green Jobs will be responsible to the overall responsible to lead the field level activities of Climate change and green jobs by field officer- climate change and green jobs and mobilizing and coordination community level stakeholders (Cooperative, Youth club, Entrepreneurship, Local bodies). As well this position represents to organization and project in community level and Local level. 

    SCOPE OF ROLE:

    Reports to: Program Manager- Sahayatra III 

    Staff reporting to this post: 2, Field officer- Climate change and Green Jobs 

    Budget Responsibilities: N/A

    Role Dimensions: This position is key position to implement for ensure the result of Sahayatra III project under Climate Change and Green Jobs

    KEY responsibilities:

    Project planning and budgeting

    • Facilitate and support to conduct and ensure community consultation with key stakeholders and beneficiaries for assessment, planning and designing.
    • Ensure proper data collection, documentation, and dissemination on education issues regularly. 
    • Capacity building of project team for the effective project implementation.
    • Support for making district and Local level project plan with references of agreed Climate change and Green Jobs theme under Sahayatra III project activities on monthly, quarterly basis.

    Coordination, Collaboration and Networking

    • Coordinate and collaborate with Palika and Ward level government line agencies, stakeholders, beneficiaries, media, other project teams within organization and other service providers in different level.
    • Ensure organizational visibility and sustainability in the Palika /Ward and community level. 
    • Participate in different networks and forums and coordinate at the community level likeminded organizations for resource maximisation. 
    • Maintain good coordination with Palika level Agriculture unit, farmer group and other link mandate committee as well as SC in the program and maintain close coordination with DO as well as Field officer. 
    • Harmonize, facilitate, and ensure to integrate the project components at Palika/Ward and community levels. 
    • Bridge the project related information between Save the Children and organization.

    Project implementation

    • Lead the project providing support to field staff and ensure the timely conduction of project activities having quality output in Palika and ward level. 
    • Formation/strengthening capacity of Youths and entrepreneurship. 
    • Explore TTP to conduct vocational training and monitoring the work of TTP.
    • Support to Sahayatra III project team for making effective work plan of project implementation.  
    • Support to field officer- Climate change and Green Jobs Office for smoothly implementation of program particularly in technical components and management.
    • Maintain proper database, filing and documentation system and their management in the district office.  
    • Local level advocacy to increase resource allocation to Climate change and Green Jobs 
    • Lead to convene community level project activities as assigned under the program and organizational provisions in project area, communities.
    • Conduct and facilitate community level project activities with high quality, training, meeting, workshop, seminars etc.  
    • Collect feedback and learning from stakeholders and other concern agencies for the program.
    • Provides day-to-day supervision of staff and works collaboratively with others project coordinator

    Project review and monitoring

    • Frequently visit the project areas for supervision and monitoring the field level activities 
    • Support to conduct surveys, internal and external evaluations. 
    • Support for preparation and submit event wise reports to Project manager - Sahayatra III and Save the children. 
    • Monitor the regular activities of climate change and Green Jobs,  
    • Ensure for the involvement of community to review program among the stakeholders and beneficiaries. 
    • Participate in the project review meeting with project team to review planned activities of that month along with challenges faced and lesson learned monthly. 
    • Support to conduct social audit and public hearing.

    Project reporting and documentation

    • Prepared monthly project tracking and quarterly, semi-annually, and annual report and submit to Project Manager- Sahayatra III and updating the information related to the project. 
    • Collect case studies/success story, action photos, learning, and challenges for the program documentation. Submit field monitoring reports to Project manager and MEAL& Documentation coordinator. 
    • Prepare and submit event reports, data base along with indicator surveys. Undertaken field visits for monitoring and supervision of program personnel.
    • Share the field visit reports to the line manager with area to be improved and betterment. 
    • Work closely with MEAL& Documentation coordinator to ensure the project progress is in track and quality set in the project documents are met.
    • Initiate corrective actions based on the feedback from MEAL & Documentation coordinator and save the children representative.

    QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE

    Master's Degree in Environment Science, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, Social Sciences and having 2 years’ experience in project management and implementation or Bachelor's Degree in Environment Science, Natural Resource Management, Agriculture, Social Sciences with 3 years of experience on project management.
