The Care Companion Program - Project Manager will provide the overall program management and delivery support for the "Adopting the Care Companion Program (CCP) for Nepal" across three hospitals of Nepal. This role includes offering technical backstopping and programmatic support for implementing a CCP in Nepal, under the leadership of One Heart Worldwide. It necessitates maintaining close and effective coordination with team members, donors, and government stakeholders. This position may require frequent field visits.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Leadership and management

• Serve as the focal point for the "Adopting the Care Companion Program (CCP) for Nepal" project, and work under the guidance of the supervisor and OHW senior management team.
• Manage partner communications and public relationships with our diverse stakeholders like senior government officials and hospital level staff/ administrators
• The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems with strong management and leadership skills.
• Build a team of people as required and manage them in terms of performance and motivation
• Ensure budgeting and resource planning as and when required

2. Monitoring of the Care Companion Program in partner hospitals

• Quantitative Monitoring: Actively monitor the output data for the assigned hospitals and work along with the monitoring and evaluation team to address the operational challenges identified during the monitoring process
• Qualitative Monitoring: Conduct and supervise class quality audits for a randomly selected set of hospitals every month

3. Support training of the trainer activities

• Support the Master Trainers/Lead Trainers in delivering the ToT modules for the different content areas in the local language
• Management of hospital level ToT, review meetings/ workshops whenever conducted

4. Program Iterations/product testing 

• Review existing IEC/BCC materials and take the lead to finalize IEC/BCC materials required for CCP sessions. 
• Design and develop materials and programs required for CCP in close coordination with NH, OHW team members and the government. 
• Work with donor and OHW in-house team of designers and content creators to implement our experimental design activities in the hospital partners. Share ground level insights with our design team to guide the planning and implementation of experimental designs.
• Gather feedback on the experiments conducted by the team, supporting them in making various operations/content decisions

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

• The position requires considerable project-based travel to various hospitals in Nepal. Travel may be for an extended duration and sometimes require relocation to another region.
• Language criteria: English, Nepali, preferably Bhojpuri/Maithili/Abadi
• Mandatory prior work experience in the public health sector with a preferable management background 
• MPH in Health Promotion and Education, combined with clinical experience, will be an added value
• Five to eight years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in common computer and web applications like Google Suites
• Ability to own the outcomes of the program and provide feedback at all levels in order to continuously improve the program outcomes.
• Creative and empathetic problem-solving with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Manage a team of people to achieve the desired outcomes of the program.
• Be a team player with excellent communication
• Prioritize tasks based on situational analysis
• Work at the ground level and at leadership levels based on situational demands

2. Care Companion Program - Project Officer - 3

Duty Station: Janakpur, Kathmandu & Surkhet

The Care Companion Program – Project officer will provide the overall program management and delivery support for the "Adopting the Care Companion Program (CCP) for Nepal" at the respective hospital level. This role includes offering technical backstopping and programmatic support for implementing a CCP in Nepal, under the leadership of CCP-PM. It necessitates maintaining close and effective coordination with team members, hospital staff and the hospital management team. This position has to spend the majority of time at the respective hospital for supporting in program implementation, recording reporting and follow-up of discharged patients from the hospital.

Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

1. Coordination and communication

• Manage communications, coordination and public relationships with hospital staff, hospital management team and own team members.  
• The ability to find innovative ways to resolve problems with strong management and leadership skills.

2. Monitoring of the Care Companion Program at the Hospital

• Actively monitor the output data for the assigned hospital and work along with the monitoring and evaluation team to address the operational challenges identified during the monitoring process
• Conduct and supervise class quality audits for a randomly selected ward of hospitals every day

3. Support training of the trainer activities

• Support the Master Trainers/Lead Trainers in delivering the ToT modules for the different content areas in the local language
• Management of hospital level ToT, review meetings/ workshops whenever conducted
• Facilitation of TOT

4. Program Iterations/product testing and feedback sharing

• Support to review existing IEC/BCC materials and support to finalize IEC/BCC materials required for CCP sessions. 
• Support materials design team to design and develop materials and programs required for CCP in close coordination with hospital staff and management team. 
• Support a team of designers and content creators to implement our experimental design activities in the hospital. Share ground level insights with our design team to guide the planning and implementation of experimental designs.
• Gather feedback on the experiments conducted by the team, supporting them in making various operations/content decisions

5. Recording and Reporting:

• Maintain the hospital training session logs
• Report them on the prescribed digital platform and ensure the data quality is maintained 
• Provide required reports (event reports, monthly and quarterly reports) 
• Collect any relevant qualitative and quantitative data as per the needs of the organization

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR 

• This is a hospital-based position. Will require frequent visits to the respective hospital and OHW offices
• Language criteria: Nepali, preferably Bhojpuri/Maithili/Abadi, English,
• Mandatory prior work experience in the public health sector with a preferable management background
• Bachelor of Nursing in community health/midwifery/BSC nursing or public health graduate with PCL nursing
• 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience
• Proficiency in common computer and web applications like Google Suites
• Ability to own the outcomes of the program and provide feedback at all levels in order to continuously improve the program outcomes.
