    Vacancy Announcement

    Women Association for Marginalized Women (WAM) is a non profitable NGO which works to reduce the gap between men and women in social, economical, and cultural aspect for promoting the equitable society. It helps the women to empower themselves conducting the awareness activities related to traditional beliefs, violence against women, gender and social discriminations and social exclusion, is looking for dynamic and result-oriented Nepalese citizens for the following posts under the "Community Safety Net (CSN)" Program supported by Nagarik Aawaz.

                     Psychosocial counselor

    Duty Station      :                  Surkhet (Birendranagar Municipality and Barahatal Rural Municipality)

    Minimum Qualification and Experience :
    • Bachelor's degree in a related field with one year of work experience with six months course on psychosocial care and support.Ready to movement on hard to reach area of rural context.
    • Good knowledge in documentation, report writing.
    • Good communication skills both in English and Nepali.
    Major Responsibility:
    • The counselor would be fully involved and support to focal person in planning, need assessment and formulation of monitoring check list
    • Counselor is expected to have a close coordination with the Focal person and community people in the respective field and should offer any suggestion related to the project for the betterment.
    • Undertake assessments and provide counseling and referral services in the community.
    • Conduct community based psychosocial orientation and sensitization program.
    • Maintain case documentation.
    • Participate in weekly project coordination meetings and weekly peer supervision and support meetings.
    • Reports to the Project Focal person
    • Follow the inputs and additional responsibilities provided by focal person when it comes for strategic benefits to the project.
