    Job Description

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL: CONSULTANCY SERVICE TO DEVELOP VIDEO SERIES – “SUTNE BELA KA KATHA”

World Vision (WV) is a child focused relief, development and advocacy organisation that has contributed to transformation in the lives of millions of children around the world in vulnerable situations. WV aspires to achieve this through partnership with local communities, civil societies, government and private sectors where we believe in mutual participation and trust, shared vision and goal, accountability and responsibility. We are a child focused organisation driven by Christian values to serve children and families regardless of their religion, age, gender, ethnicity, class and caste.

The World Vision International Nepal Innovation Lab (NLab), is a platform to inspire and support a step-change in humanitarian and development action – providing access to the enabling tools, knowledge, connections, capital and markets to turn good ideas into action, and fostering inclusive and innovative solutions for effective humanitarian action in Nepal.

One of the innovative solutions that emerged from the lab is the Rapid Prototyping and Scaling Workshop that was designed using HCD tools . This workshop uses design thinking principles and tools to identify community-level problems and develop solutions within participating groups. Among the teams that participated in this workshop in west Nepal, the education team came up with the concept of "Sutne Bela Ka Katha" which translates to “bedtime stories”. This concept focuses on child awareness and involves playing series of children engagement programs on social media platforms and radio every week in the evening during the child’s bedtime. The intervention’s objective is to sensitize and engage children in developing better learning habits with a focus on the usage and retention of local languages. The main goal behind introducing “Sutne Bela ka Katha” is to address the issue of lack of interest and competency in local languages among children compared to foreign languages.

In this regard, World Vision International Nepal (WVI Nepal), Kusunti, Lalitpur - 13, invites interested consulting firms or VAT registered individuals to submit proposals for a consulting assignment.

    1.  Consultancy Service: Develop Video Series – “Sutne Bela Ka Katha” [ 8 Videos]

The consultancy service aims to develop engaging and educational videos mainly focusing on ECD children that enhance children's interest and competency in local languages. The specific objectives include creating visually coherent and culturally relevant illustrations, fostering active learning and critical thinking through interactive scenarios, and integrating local symbols, characters, and traditions to ensure cultural relevance. The project also emphasizes inclusivity by making the content accessible to children of diverse abilities and backgrounds, and it encourages community and parental involvement through feedback mechanisms. By disseminating the content via social media including the WVI Nepal YouTube channel on a consistent weekly schedule, the initiative seeks to establish better learning habits and promote a sense of cultural pride and responsibility among children. Monitoring and evaluation will be conducted to measure the effectiveness and impact of the videos, ensuring continuous improvement and alignment with educational goals.

The prospective firm/individual for this work must have focus in animation and video development work, or in relevant discipline with at least 5 years of experience in related field, be entitled to work in Nepal, have a solid understanding of the local context of far west Nepal, and display experience and high levels of competency in animation and video development.
